Safety
At Oueslati Sportschule, the athletes' health and safety is top priority. One of the areas that deserves a lot of attention is the aspect of concussions. The following link discusses in detail some facts about concussions and the protocols needed before an athlete can return to the field.
THIS IS CRITICAL READING FOR ALL COACHES, TEAM MANAGERS, ASSISTANTS, STAFF, ATHLETES, & PARENTS.
Risk Mitigation
It is important to balance the need for coaching with the boundaries required between adults and children. Here are practices that need to be followed to support the mission of the Oueslati Sportschule, and avoid compromising scenarios by our staff and entrusted volunteers. Only official staff members and appointed volunteers are approved individuals that can run our programs and services.
Athlete- staff/volunteer interaction during approved activities -- Staff/volunteers are never to be alone with a young athlete (under age 18) that is not your own, to protect yourself against false accusation. For private lessons or where a one-on-one situation is not avoidable parents are advised and recommended to stay with their child. Have a parent, assistant, or fellow coach stay with you and any child that is late being picked up from practice. Parents are expected to help facilitate and avoid leaving their child alone or unattended with one adult and should make sure to pick up their child after lessons in a timely manner to further avoid such situations.
As Oueslati Sportschule's top priority is to keep athletes safe and healthy, we still ask you to be mindful of the risks involved and urge you to help us create and foster a safe environment while actively preventing risks.
